The following charities benefit from the 2010 Fashion Show:
Each year thousands of children in the United States are thrust into court through no fault of their own. Some are victims of physical violence, emotional or sexual abuse. Others have been neglected or abandoned by their own parents. Most are frightened or confused. The Court Appointed Special Advocate program was created to make sure that the abuse and neglect these children suffered at home doesn't continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of "the foster care system." The CASA advocate is an independent voice to keep judges on the cases informed so they can make good decisions about the children's permanent future. Serving children in Denton County since 1992, CASA has served over 4,000 children in the past 19 years. In 2010, 467 children from Denton County received advocacy services from a CASA advocate, all from Denton County and 30% from South Denton County.
CACDC
The Children's Advocacy Center for Denton County provides justice and healing for severely abused children. In 1996, the year prior to the opening of CACDC, 86 criminal cases were filed in Denton County against adults who had severely abused children. That year, only 8 of them were convicted and held accountable, resulting in minimal justice for those children and very little healing. CACDC began operations in 1997 coordinating the efforts of law enforcement, the District Attorney's office, medical professionals, Child Protective Services and mental health professionals. In 2010, the agency provided over 9,000 hours of therapy and counseling, and interviewed 701 brave children who came forward with their story. The agency also helped put 78 individuals behind bars who committed crimes against children.
PediPlace
PediPlace, located in Lewisville, provides a broad scope of primary-care pediatric services with a highly competent staff of medical professionals along with many dedicated volunteers. The PediPlace mission is making healthcare a reality for every kid.  PediPlace’s vision is providing quality, compassionate, family centered healthcare to North Texas children who have limited access to care. At PediPlace, no child is turned away. In 2010, PediPlace provided over 23,830 individual office visits to 6,026 children living in Denton, Dallas, Tarrant and Collin Counties.
CAUSE
C.A.U.S.E., Consumer Awareness of Unsafe Service Employment, was founded in 2004 by Lucia Bone, a resident of Double Oak. Lucia's sister, Sue Weaver was brutally raped and murdered by a twice-convicted sex offender that had previously come into her Florida home to clean her air ducts.  Frighteningly, Sue's story is not an isolated case.  Each year many people are victims because proper background checks are not performed on individuals that companies are sending into our homes.  C.A.U.S.E. Certification is a program that could and should have saved Sue's life by offering consumers and employers a means of hiring safer employees, contractors and subcontractors.  The Sue Weaver
C.A.U.S.E. educates consumers and employers on the Dangers of Not Knowing Who You Hire, and the importance of annual complete criminal background checks on anyone working or volunteering with the vulnerable populations or near consumers' homes.
